Plumpton Branch is delighted to stage an Afternoon in Celebration of P G Wodehouse -- A LITERARY COMIC GENIUS.
Wodehouse is regarded as the leading humorist of the 20th Century – the creator of Jeeves and Blandings and the first great lyricist of the Broadway musical.
Join us for an afternoon of readings, songs and stories linking Wodehouse’s life and work.
Edward Cazalet (Wodehouse’s step grandson) gives a first-hand account of Wodehouse, the man he knew, accompanied by his children, Hal and Lara Cazalet, who will perform some of
Wodehouse’s lyrics which were set to music by Gershwin, Kern and Porter.
British opera tenor Hal Cazalet and his sister, the stage and TV actress Lara Cazalet, sing professionally and have performed together in many a celebration of their step-grandfather. In early November they will entertain aboard the Queen Mary II.
