Maria Caulfield MP and Seaford Conservatives have welcomed the news that temporary traffic lights are to be installed on Exceat Bridge on Monday 29th March.
Maria Caulfield MP and Seaford Conservatives have been called for traffic lights to be kept at Exceat Bridge after previous lights had been in place for Eastbourne air shows and during road works in Alfriston, and been a success. Now the Conservative County Council have agreed and will be installing the temporary traffic light on Monday 29th March.
Maria Caulfield MP said “Local residents know how much the traffic lights really make a difference when they are in place. This is why local Conservatives and I have been calling for this to be done. With the plans for a new Exceat Bridge with the South Downs National Park we are close to getting a new bridge, but until this can be built traffic lights will be a big help for residents.”
Luke Proudfoot, Conservative Campaigner in Seaford South, said “I have had many conversations with residents who are delighted that temporary lights are to be installed. Maria Caulfield MP and Seaford Conservatives have been in calling on our colleagues running the County Council to put traffic lights in place until the new bridge is built. I am grateful to the Conservative County Council for this, and I know the residents will be too.”
Conservative Councillor Sam Adeniji said “I am pleased that these temporary traffic lights will be installed at Exceat Bridge on Monday 29th March. These should help ease the traffic flow between Seaford and Eastbourne, particularly at peak times. It is good to know that these will remain in place until the new two way bridge is built.”
