Andrew Stephenson MP, the Conservative Party Chairman, has visited the Lewes constituency to campaign with Maria Caulfield MP and local Conservative Councillors & activists.
The Conservative Party Chairman is visiting constituencies across the country during the summer recess and dropped in to join Maria Caulfield on the doorsteps in Ringmer in her Lewes constituency to talk to local residents.
Many residents raised concerns about the failures of Lewes District Council’s Lib Dem and Green led coalition including allowing the Local Plan to go out of date and giving over £100k to build a solar farm on agricultural land in Ringmer.
Maria Caulfield MP said “I am regularly out on the doorsteps across the Lewes constituency and was pleased to be joined on this occasion by the Conservative Party Chairman, Andrew Stephenson MP. He was able to hear first-hand the failings of the local council and how our local Conservative Councillors plan to run the Council for the benefit of local residents when we take back control from the coalition in May.
“The Lib Dem and Green run council are letting down local residents and I am hearing this again and again across the Lewes constituency.”
Andrew Stephenson also met with local Councillors: Cllr Isabelle Linginton (Chailey, Barcombe & Hamsey, Leader Conservative Group on LDC), Cllr Nancy Bikson (Wivelsfield), Cllr Dave Argent (Seaford Town Council), Cllr Matthew Milligan (Chailey Division East Sussex County Council), Cllr Lisa Sargent (Polegate Town Council).
